Rhinoplasty

in Rogers, Bentonville, Fayetteville, Springdale, Arkansas

Rhinoplasty surgery, commonly known as nose reshaping or a “nose job,” is typically performed to improve the harmonious balance of facial features. However, there are many medical benefits of a rhinoplasty, such as correcting a deviated septum. Whether you are seeking this procedure for cosmetic or medical reasons, one of our plastic surgeons, Dr. Robert Taylor or Dr. Kasia Kania, can meet with you in a confidential consultation to address your personal goals of nose reshaping.

Reasons to Consider a Rhinoplasty

  • If you have a large or disproportionate nose compared to the rest of your facial features.
  • If you would like to alter the bridge or tip of the nose for a more pleasing shape.
  • If you suffered from an injury or deformity that needs correction.

How will I be prepared for rhinoplasty?

During your initial consultation, you should be prepared to discuss your complete medical history, including medical conditions, current medications, or previous nasal surgeries. Our plastic surgeon will also ask if you have difficulty breathing through your nose, suffer from allergies, or use nasal spray. It is important to be honest throughout this process to ensure a positive outcome.

When evaluating you for rhinoplasty, our doctor will conduct an examination of your internal nasal structures. They will also assess the skin quality as well as the size and shape of your nose compared to your other facial characteristics. In some cases, rhinoplasty is combined with other facial surgeries for a more significant improvement.

What to expect with rhinoplasty surgery?

Rhinoplasty is performed in our state-of-the-art, highly accredited on-site surgery center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Before your procedure, you will be administered anesthetic medication so you are comfortable during your procedure. Our plastic surgeon may incorporate one of two common rhinoplasty techniques, the open or closed methods. The open rhinoplasty procedure involves a small incision outside of the nose, while the closed method involves incisions inside your nostrils. Depending on the amount of alteration, he will recommend a technique that is best for you.

After the procedure is complete, you will be taken to a recovery area where you’ll be further monitored. You may experience some discomfort, which can generally be resolved with prescription pain medication. Depending on your alterations, a nasal splint may be placed to maintain your new structure. You can likely return home within a few hours of surgery.

How long will rhinoplasty results last?

Rhinoplasty results are permanent. However, in the case of injury or dissatisfaction, a revision rhinoplasty may be an option.
